The University of Mississippi School of Nursing students complete coursework on one of two campuses.
Jackson campus
As Mississippi's health-care hub, Jackson is home to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, the state's only academic health science center. The School of Nursing is housed on this sprawling 160-acre campus, along with five other health sciences schools and four major hospitals. Here, bachelor's, master's and doctoral nursing students receive the finest interdisciplinary, collaborative education in the state. All of the School of Nursing's undergraduate and graduate programs and tracks are offered on this campus.
Oxford campus
The University of Mississippi, which serves as UMMC's parent school, is located in the college town of Oxford, about two and a half hours north of Jackson. The School of Nursing opened its doors in 1948 in Oxford and subsequently became the first nursing program in the state, before moving to Jackson in 1956. The school's Oxford campus currently offers the Accelerated BSN program, and, likewise, nearly all of the school's graduate programs and tracks are also accessible from Oxford. Starting May 2024, The Oxford instructional site will also welcome a cohort to Oxford with the Traditional BSN program returning.
